Shady s*** at Sunoco

The Sunoco by my house that I usually go to use to have 87, 89, and 93 octane...the 93 being about 3.15 a gallon. This was last thursday. I go there yesterday, and now they have 87, 89, 91(I haven't seen 91 octane at a sunoco since before I bought my car), and now 93 is ULTRA 93, and instead of being 3.15 a gallon its 3.35 a gallon. WTF!

yeah be careful if you ask for premium at sunoco you get 91.

And the one by my work had ultra 93 advertised as the 91 price and they wouldn't give it to me for the cheaper price even though it was oout on the big ass sign near the road.

I've been using BP and Shell more now.

They're all like that now, since they got rid of 94 octane. I was stuck with that in Baltimore for the last 5 years.

Yeah all Sunoco's are going to 87, 89, 91, and 93. The 94 didn't meet the new ethanol standards and it wasn't profitable enough to convert it.

Most stations choose to advertise the 87, 89, and 93 still though. The normal pricing is like this now.

87 Regular - $x.xxx
89 Plus - $x.xxx + .10
91 Premium - $x.xxx + .20 (Old 93 Price)
93 Ultra - $x.xxx + .30 (Old 94 Price)

The real *** part is that they ace actually charging the stations the same price for the 93 as they did the 94, so the owners arn't even making any more money.

I'm looking for a solid answer for this as well. Since 94 has been gone I've tried a few 93s and shell v power seemed to keep my knock down.
YAY for being tuned for 94 octane

that number is a rating guys. if you find any one brand of gas thats considerably "better" and has the same octane rating.. something is seriously wrong. they don't just pull those numbers out of their asses.

to the poster who said they had the wrong price and wouldnt sell it at the advertised price.. im pretty sure theres a state agency you can contact to investigate. i hear they take that pretty serious

Well 93 is 93 but some people swear by the gas at certain places....I'm wondering if there's a general concensus here .....

The difference is where it comes from...Places such as Acme and US Gas buy it CHEAP because they take what is left over from the refinery. This "may" be of lesser quality and more prone to having dirt and particles in it.
