Aw s***!!!

so i was on my way to princeton on RT. 1 and all of the sudden i hear this loud noise coming from my engine bay. it went away immedietly so i just ignored it and figured i ran over something or w/e and then i hit a bump a little further down the road probably going 60MPH and it sounded like my engine dropped out of the car and it was being dragged along or something so i pull from the inside lane all the way to the side of the road and put my flashers on.

Now before i go on, yesterday i was going to change my intake box to a cold air intake but ended up having to put it back in before i could finish cause it didnt fit right and i had to go to work so i only put in 1 of the 3 bolts that held on the air box.

So i go check under the hood cause my firts thought was that something happened with the intake but there was nothing. so i check under the car from the side and there was nothing, then i go to the front and my WHOLE AIR DAM IS FLIPPED BACKWARDS UNDER MY CAR!!! the entire front of the air dam was ripped off the bumper and held on by bolts directly behind the front wheels.

If it wasnt held on by bolts i would have just ripped the whole thing off so i could keep driving. and if it wasnt for the fact that all the air was pushing my car up and making it shake violently i would have just kept going with it dragging under the car but it was like lifting my front end up.

i called about ten people for someone to bring something out to cut the rest of it off or to take the bolts off and my dad was 45 mins away.
...so i had to wait 45 mins for him to come and take off the rest of the air dam.

(((((LONG STORY SHORT))))

My air dam ripped off of my bumper on route1 and caused my car to shake violently so i pulled over and was on the side of the road for an hour or more waiting for someone to come with somethign to take the rest of the air damn off. 45 mins later my dad came to the rescue with a socket wrench and we managed to take it off. i showed up just into to have play the last half hour of my hockey practice.

PICS TO COME!!

Thats a popular thing on passats. On guy last week was writing how his just decided to leave him while driving down the highway. He said it came off without and remorse and it had served him well.

heh

Mine kept bottoming out, so I took it off.

Though stock, it's held on by 2 spring clips, so it flexes easy.
