Car Meet/Cruise June 9th in Leesport PA for Charity

Modified Obsession along with the Steak Shack in Leesport will be hosting a charity event to benefit Hillside SPCA, one of the few no-kill shelters in this state.

The Steak Shack will be donating 10% of all of their profits for that day to Hillside SPCA.

Stop in to hang out, eat some great food, check out some awesome cars, and help out a great cause!

We'll be having two live bands, games, cars (of course), and a large raffle at 12pm.There will also be a race car driver there with his car for photographs and autographs. Pets are welcome!
We will then have a cruise up to Hillside SPCA. The first few miles will be police escorted to get us through the worst of the lights. A $5per car/$5 per passenger donation is required to join the cruise.

We'll be accepting donations of pet food, blankets, leashes, collars, toys, and treats, as well as cash donations. Every little bit helps! We will be there from June 9th 9am-2pm. Then we will cruise up to Hillside SPCA to drop off all donations. $5 per car/$5 per passenger donation required to enter the cruise.

Please feel free to RSVP on Facebook, or message me with any questions/information.

Would love to go... but I can' support the SPCA being that they are lobbing to make my cats illegal.

What kind of cat? I don't know anything about this but I'd love to hear more. And JP this isn't a "state" SPCA. They get very little government funding because they are a no-kill animal shelter. They actually have over 200 cats right now, and they have a gorgeous enclosure for them that lets them go into an outdoor enclosure to sunbathe. What type of cats do you like? June they're having free adoption month!

We have savannah cats, they are a type of hybrid. (Bengal, Chausi, Safari are also hybrids) many states are trying to ban all hybrids (including dog breeds also), and hsus and spca are helping to fund these bills and get them passed with as little attention as possible.

Ohio just recently tried to pass a bill, well it passed now banning many animals but thankfully we got savannahs removed from the bill. (The other domestic hybrids were not even listed to start with). West virgina is another state trying to pass laws, and as it stands now there are laws against or limiting hybrids in about 50% of states.

I forget where he put the thread but its called kitty pornz or something lol with both our boys pictures.

That sucks! I have pet ferrets, and they're illegal in some states. I'd be heart broken if this state ever tried to pass a law banning them! I hate any type of breed profiling. Hillside is packed with pit bulls that rarely get adopted out even though they're such sweet dogs that just want a home. Your cats sound adorable! I must find the pictures! It's not the breed that's the problem, it's irresponsible owners that don't know how to handle the breed that ruin things. I really hope to see you guys out on Saturday!

Yes you got it right it is all in the owners. You have to respect your pets and know there limits too. They can't speak so the react in the only way they know how, it doesn't make them bad. Not all animals do great in public. I see you found the picture thread though.

just heard about this meet tonight. where is the parking in relation to the actual SPCA? is it close enough to go look at possible adoptions?

and i looked at the FB address provided and on google earth the closest parking lot i could find, didn't look like it had much space.
where exactly will this be held? (looking at a 45 min ride, so want to know where I'm going)

Hillside is bringing some kittens down, as well as a poster board of all their adoptable pets. We will be taking a cruise to the shelter, about a thirty minute ride after the fundraiser where you can visit pets, and get pictures with some of them with your ride if you'd like! The first few miles of the cruise are police escorted. This is also free adoption month for cats, and we have a dog groomer offering half off grooming for any dog adopted within the next three months!

As for space, we are using three cojoined parking lots , and grass. Not sure what it looks like on Google Earth, but we can fit at decent amount of show cars, but I do suggest getting there early for the best spots!
It'll be held at the Steak Shack in Leesport, but spill over into the parking lot for Erick's Sheds, and Ontelaunne Orchards. We have a pretty organized set up, it's going to be an awesome day. Cars, live entertainment, great food, giant raffle. Pet friendly, and kid games. Plus, it's right next to the highway so tons of people will be seeing your ride!

If you'd like I can also PM you my cellphone number in case you get lost.

The area looks a lot different now, but here's the basics in picture view.

Awesome, i was looking at the "entertainment" lot on google maps, so everything looks good, thanks for filling in the blanks!

I have the address from FB, just wanted to make sure it wasn't in one of the shopping centers or something. I'm sure once i saw a few modded cars, id know it was the show.
