![]() Making room for the fuel Cell... ![]() Many people asked me, why not just sump the stocker...well first of all i wasnt comfortable welding on the old rusty gas tank and the thing is just so grimey. Anyway....let skip a few steps since i didnt take much pics. ![]() Cell being test fitted after cutting the hole, which was needed for me to run the lines. ![]() Feed and return being ran. ![]() While i'm at it, why not clean up the bay a little. Started to prime it. ![]() Think i was doing priming here... ![]() Some OEM matching paint...a little too well of a OEM match lol ![]() Ok back to the fuel system... We welded on the supports and installed the mounting brackets. Also welded on the studs for the fuel pump and filter. ![]() Fuel pump/filter mounted and started to connect lines. ![]() What fuel cell? heh i will try to get a metal cover going instead, but this should work for now. ![]() ![]() Under i used weather stripping and some rubberized under body coating. Fuel system was pretty much done...on to the assembly of engine.
![]() Installing the oil pump. ![]() Front partially on and head on. Also used a 2mm HKS Stopper Metal Headgasket for extra measure, even tho the block was o-ringed which were installed also. ![]() Things being test fitted, i also powder coated my valve covers and fuel rail myself. I had a guy on the forums weld me up a bigger sump on a stock pan, but i didnt know he was gonna be the worse welder of all time. I'm a little embarrased to show these next pics as i was pretty pissed but i did decide to use this pan....worse thing i ever did, even after i checked for leaks. ![]() It was later replaced by stock pan, story to be told soon. Before engine going in i replaced the steering rack with a low mileage re manufactured one along with a SS PS feed line. ![]() ![]() After massaging in, engine was in...stupid me did it with the newly coated valve covers ![]() Last edited by empera; 06-22-2009 at 09:02 PM. |

![]() Started to work on oil filter relocation and cooler. ![]() Much easier. ![]() New Intercooler installed. Overall Size: 31"x12"x4" ![]() Manifold and cam gears test fitted. ![]() Manifold and upper dp wrapped. ![]() ![]() More things installed, including radiator and fan. ![]() and more...coils, turbo, dp... ![]() Wiring, fuel rail, AFPR, vac lines being ran. after most of it together... ![]() First start on new block!!! Almost starts right up. Need to tune AEM for coldstarts and such. And then we had better luck the next day. Forgive me the intake filter set up, had to cut it. Also stock cams were installed for the break in period, they need adjusting but will wait till the new cams are installed. ![]() Last edited by empera; 06-22-2009 at 09:17 PM. |

ok so i had a leak, pan was not done by someone, whom name i choose not to mention....
![]() Bad leak... ![]() A really bad one... After a few days no oil was left in the engine...Time to pull out engine to replace the ****ty one with a stocker, which i should have done in the first place, ah well...took me a while but we got it done. and after having a few problems getting the car to idle again with the AEM she was out in the sunlight...first time since november. ![]() ![]() And finally....her first steps...sorry for the really ****ty quality, i only had my cell phone on me. ![]() Lol and my buddy takes a while putting her to bed. Car will not rev pass 3k, hopefully Ray (@turbotek ;) ) will help me figure that one out. Thanks for looking guys. Next up...tune, break-in, tune and hopefully paint job if i could get it done in the fall... Last edited by empera; 07-06-2009 at 10:39 PM. |
