2011 WRX hatch, need some ideas

I am ready for the next upgrades on my wrx, so far all I have done is the cobb intake and the cobb AP. I dont know what to do about a down pipe or CBE.
I like the invidia cattless downpipe but I am worried about boost creep.
the Catted down pipes are super expensive. From what I have read you can get away with the stage 2 tune on the cobb ap with only a down pipe on the hatch because it flows better than the sedan.
need some input.
is there anything else i can do in the same range as the downpipe to get the same power?

hopefully going to cecil county drag strip on friday night to feel the car out and hopefully see where i am at before i do anything else. ill post the times some time next week. this will be my first time on a track in any car, all i care about is beating my buddies ws6 trans am. i cant expect to much though

I know what you can expect, losing to me on Friday. Aside from that, I have no advice for you lol.

The only way you will beat J's WRX is if he gives you a 1310 foot head start. hahaha

He's a ****ty driver. I will finally have traction. As long as my 10 bolt doesn't explode on the line, he's a goner.

Welcome to the site. You may notice that we have sub-sections for things like this, and the Subaru sub-section would have been a more appropriate place to post so I moved it over there. Also, try searching. TST is overrun with Subies.

If you are open to some hot side port work you can get pretty reliable boost control even on a car running a catless dp.

I wouldn't worry about boost creep on a basically stock car. Get yourself that catless invidia dp, get rid of the silly AP and get an open source tune. The software is free as long as you have a reliable laptop all you'll need is a tactrix cable. You won't need a catback for a long time, the stock catback will be perfectly fine for alot more power than your stock turbo can really make. After the DP and a "stage II" tune, I would just say go for suspension mods. Be mindful that if you do decide to get an intake, you will need a tune immediately after. An intake might make 10-15 hp max at on a stock setup b/c the factory airbox is fine for up to around 350-400 whp, which is alot more than you are going to make with a stock turbo. Your intercooler will be the next restriction after you upgrade the dp, you have options for this. Some guys go with a bigger/stronger TMIC, I'm not a fan of TMICs so I'm shopping for an FMIC right now myself. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

I agree with this suggestion. You would see night and day difference upgrading the suspension or even better tires.

Have you looked into the CNT (previously ERZ) catted DP? There doesn't seem to be anyone complaining about it and the workmanship looks good. $350 I think for the catted version which I think is pretty reasonable.

I fiinally got a cattless downpipe, got the fast motorsports. super cheap and bolted right up. no issues at all, been running it for about 2 weeks and no issues at all. sounds great and with the stage 2 map it runs great.

i think the next thing will be the suspension. I talked to eibach the other day and he recommended the pro kit with springs and front and rear swaybars.
he said if im not tracking the car all the time its not worth the extra money for coil overs..... any input on that?

A good set of coilovers for your car will definitely out perform drop springs, but that's something you don't want to cheap out on if you want good performance. If aren't willing to drop over $1k on coils then just get drop springs.

BC BR Coils are a really nice option. Coils will be one of the first things I do when I get another Wrx early next year!

Not sure if you are on 3gwrx.com or not but it's an excellent site for 3g specific information!

3gWrx's on coils are just so damn sexy...

I know I'm like a month late to respond, but the first question is what you want out of your suspension. Are you looking for performance, looks, both?

If you haven't done the suspension upgrade yet, look at the Koni inserts. A lot of people seem to be happy with them and they're adjustable. Another option is the GTWorx/Bilstein set up. I've got the bilsteins with RCE Blacks and am more than happy with the performance. Also added Whiteline 24F/22R sways and KB endlinks at the same time so that probably has something to do with it as well.

If you're DDing the car it's up to you to decide how much jarring you're going to be able to handle in-town and on the highway. You're going to pay an arm and a leg for good coilovers that ride well, so maybe one of the two other options I mentioned would work. I have no experience with Eibach so I can't speak to that.
