Sticking the tip of the muffler out a tad bit quiets down the exhaust

here are the two mufflers at idle...

Magnaflow

Vibrant

It's hard to tell, but the Vibrant is more throaty, and the sound that eminates is not at strong.... if that makes sense

A MILLION TIMES QUIETER THAN THE MAGNAFLOW. the magnaflow tip is hidden under the bumper, while the vibrant sticks out a tiny bit.

huge difference in cabin

well the bumper plays a huge roll in this. Sound bounces inside of it and reverberates (sp) all over the place. This is especially the case with wagons, the sound is horribly loud if the exhaust is to short.

of course tip placement will affect the in cabin sound. people always tell me my tips stick out to far, but my turboback was designed that way. I drove around with a 3" dump pipe for a few days and it was drone city. def a huge difference when you ptoject the sound away from the car, rather than under it.

Welcome to my car. If you want a real-world example, I'll take someone for a spin in my car, it's so annoying. I can't wait to get a new cat-back or at least axle-back taht moves the tip to stick out behind the bumper. Just need the $$

Yeah, it makes a huge difference. I can even tell since I lost BOTH of my tips off of the back of my car, and the tips were under the car.
