WRX Owners chime in: Exedy Stage 1 Clutch + Lightweight Flywheel...

Well, i just got my car back from Precision Tuning after the Exedy Stage 1 Clutch + Lightweight Flywheel install and I must say it's drives much different than the stock clutch. When you ease off the clutch it feels like it wants to spring right back. The flywheel occcasionally makes a noise that sounds like the lid of a tin can vibrating....it's weird. Anyone else got this setup? Lemme know what ya think.....

Since you went with a lighweight flywheel you will have a chatter noise, everyone gets it. I am not sure about the springin back thing but take it back and have Richy check it out.

You just need to get used to the new clutch.

Nah...it's not anything that needs to be checked....it just has so much more "spring" than the stock clutch and I'm just not used to it yet.....

I have the Exedy stage 1 clutch as well, but stock flywheel. After I got mine back the clutch did chatter a bit, and under engine braking it sounded like there was something loose/grinding. Rich at Precision told me that Exedy changed the design of the clutch a bit, and that the newer ones are making a bit more noise than the older design/stock. The grinding/rubbing/chattering went away after a few hundred miles, so I wouldn't worry about it.
