2010 camaro v6

Hey guys so I was looking at the evo but insurance was insane, so I'm going to go a completely different route, a 2010 camaro v6 that's just loaded, anybody heard of anyone getting serious power out of one of these, it already has around 300 hp but weights allot, your thoughts?

I just did a quick search online. I couldn't find supercharger or turbo kits for the RS V6, but there were plenty for the SS V8.

It is not nearly as fun as the Evo since it is big and heavy. Steering response is not sharp either. And I am not sure about this, but I don't think it has magnetic ride suspension like the Camaro SS and CTS-V.

But it is still pretty quick.

I'd go with something else. Have you shopped around for insurance on the evo? Try statefarm if you haven't yet. They were much more competitively priced for my daily driver.

Test drive a 2011 V6 Mustang and you will never want the Camaro again. The power and handling are at a whole new never for the Mustang. The only thing the Camaro may have is looks, but thats subjective. Everything else about the Msutang is just better.

Hell, you can almost get a brand new Mustang V6 for the same price as the used Camaros are going for.

I would never recommend a ford product usually, but dont waste your hard earn dollars on a half ass GM product.

Go drive a v6 mustang. its just better, ford finally acknowledged the advent of technology!

Mustang> comaro. Wish I could remember what company insured my Evo when I vied in Philly. They didn't differentiate between a lancer and an Evo so insurance was fairy inexpensive. Still more than I was paying in Boston at the time.

I know sts makes a turbo system for it that puts 400rwhp at 6lbs of boost, I was just thinking other that that, I have usaa so I know it's not likely any other insurance carriers are going to beat the rate, but maybe I'll look into the ss a little more, the mustang is just too bland for me, I mean I have mini Cooper right now to the point where I can beat a stock evo easier as long as it's not from a dig, I've just gotten fed up with torque steer

Ill look into insurance rates for older sti and evo, if it doesnt work ill go with the camaro with a sts turbo, because the mustangs too boring for me, check out the sts turbo, its a bolt on system.

I've never seen great results out of a STS system.

I've never understood the whole "make your V6 as fast as a V8!!!!" line of thought. For the cost of the V6 car plus all of the money that goes into the turbo kit, tuning, and unexpected costs, you could have bought a V8 in the first place and had a more reliable car.

If you want power out of the GM HFV6, buy a SAAB 9-3 aero. they at least have a turbo.

If you're going to recommend a Saab, at least recommend the viggen!

I've sat in a Camaro and I love how the front of them look... but interior is complete **** and you can't see out of it. Just my .02 though. If I were you I would take a v6 Camaro and v6 Mustang on a test drive and see what you like best.

Insurance, gas, and dare to be different are the reasons usually. Sometimes it is cheaper, sometimes it isn't.

Killercoop, I know a lot of guys like the motor, some people are considering a swap into the 4th gen F-bodies. I'm sure more aftermarket stuff will come out for the v6 5th gen, but just like the 4th gens, Camaros are "supposed to be v8s", with that said I've heard the STS kit's aren't that bad for the cost on the Camaros.

.
Insurance for a V8 over a V6 shouldn't be that much more per month, unless you have a bad driving record. In that case you're a liability and shouldn't have any high powered car, which is why insurance will bend you over.

I'd be willing to bet gas mileage in a aftermarket TT V6 would be the same or worse than a V8.

Dare to be different is another way of saying open your wallet and give your bank account number to your parts supplier because this is going to get very expensive very quickly.

The v8 is $51 more a month for insurancenand I've never had an accident and have no tickets, I'm not too concerned about gas mileage because the gas mileage difference isn't that different between the v8 and v6, my dilemma is I find the mustang overly boring because I just see way too many, I want something I can tune but isn't going to kill me on insurance, the mini jcw fit this criteria for a while but now with the power I have in it torque steer has become too much of a problem, I don't want front wheel drive, I like awd and rwd, and I need to get something 08 or newer. Decisions decisions, right?

Believe me I would love a huge v8 but insurance wouldn't love me to have one, I'm throwing around the idea of a g8 gt, it's a v8 and insurance isn't killer on it

Just buy the V6 then. You aren't going to listen to anymore here.

Plus, if $51 a month more for the V8 is a deal breaker you can't really afford the V6 and mod it anyway.

I just posted this to get some opinions, raising insurance $648 a year is a bit of a deal breaker for me because my insurance is already kind of high, I am listening, I'm just expressing the fact that I don't want the mustang, other opinions are welcome, and I will have plenty of money to mod it I would mod it whiter I had a v8 or v6 the v6 just gives me more money to mod it so I'm not paying insane insurance costs every month
