Looking for dependable organized photog/writer to manage TST Media team

It was a tossup between posting this in Networking or here, but I'm hoping that this will grab the attention of some of the great photographers we have on the site.


I am looking for a dependable and organized member who is interested in leading the TST Media department to improve on the quality and frequency of what we are doing currently with event coverage, etc.

This person would be overseeing the planning, execution, and followup of events, features, and other content created by the TST Media group. This person will have the opportunity to cover some events themselves, but their main role is to organize and oversee a team of multiple contributors to be able to regularly generate and publish high quality content. I would estimate that 3-5 hours per week should be enough to cover the responsibilities, but this may vary depending on the schedule.

This would be a volunteer position but should be fun and rewarding and may have a lot of cool perks.

The ideal candidate:
*has a degree in journalism or is a journalism student, or at the very least has experience with event coverage
*will be able to manage a small team to make sure they are fulfilling their responsibilities
*a skilled photographer would be preferred and a competent writer is a big bonus
*design skills are also a plus
*is organized, dependable, and able to meet FIRM deadlines
*is able to multi-task
*is able to schedule ahead of time, sending emails and making phone calls to arrange proper access and coverage, and also gather the finished content and publish it on TST with a quick turnaround time

That's a laundry list of responsibilities for a volunteer position. How many hours are you expecting from the candidate a week? Someone I know might be interested, but he would want monetary compensation if you're looking for more than 5 hours a week of work on top of the actual events.

This is a new position and the time involved each week would vary but I would think 3-5 hours per week would be a good estimate, knowing that sometimes more and sometimes less would be required depending on the schedule.

I'm really looking for someone within the TST community who has a passion for photo/writing/journalism and for our local community, and the things listed above are not required, I was just listing my ideals for a good fit for the position to give people an idea of where they might have strengths and weaknesses.

I'd be interested in helping out with doing photos at events from time to time. I know we talked a few months ago about the Rolex series but we weren't able to get media passes in time. If you ever have any events that need to be shot and don't have any volunteers shoot me a PM and I might be able to help out!

Definitely would like to work with you on event coverage. Hopefully trying to find a media team leader soon so we can start to organize those who have offered to help out with coverage and start making plans for it. Thanks!
