any1 use netflix or clear internet?

So im getting tired of paying $125 for a ****ty comcast connection as my modem randomly reboots itself all the time and 4 techs have no idea why. So at my wits end I asked a buddy and he told me about netflix which is only $8/month and clear internet which is $50/month and offers a 4g wireless connection. Wondering if anyone had any experience using them? Thanks!

Not one of the techs decided it was a good idea to replace the modem? Weird cause when I had them, the first thing they did every visit after checking the in out levels was to give me a new box. I heard clear is spotty as ****.

My ex-manager at work has clear, he said he likes the price but the service is noticeably slower than comcast.

Since its wireless its going to be considerably slower than cable. I wouldnt be expecting to stream HD quality movies through netflix using it, although it may be decent quality. Online gaming will also suffer.

Wouldnt hurt to try it out, they probably offer a free trial period.

I have Netflix and its awesome. The streaming is great but it takes pretty long to get anything new... if you want new releases you'll have to get the DVD mailers too. But no real complaints other than that, there is PLENTY of stuff to watch haha. And you cant beat that price.

No dealings with CLEAR here.

You can scale back your Comcast (who I hate) to just internet and pay about as much as you would for Clear and get better internet speeds.

With Clear if you exceed the 4 gig (Or whatever monthly max they have), or if you have any 3G service area you're going to be charged additional. The charges get expensive QUICK as well. Just be warned of that. The 4G will be comparable to Comcast, if not better. I've confirmed this while using speed testers via my phone while connected to my home network, as well as wireless 4G.

Regarding Netflix. I have it. I used it often, but more for South Park and TV shows. Most of the random movies that have popped into my head to watch are not available via live stream, only via DVD. This is annoying to me, but it is what it is.

If you're just using Netflix for Southpark and TV, use southparkstudios.com and ch131.com for the TV bits.

I use www.solarmovie.eu to stream tv shows and movies. REMEMBER: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THEM. You'll have your isp so far up your ass.

That is a good point. Netflix for movies isn't great but their selection of TV shows is amazing. I watch a ton of History Channel shows, Military Channel shows, Sci-Fi, etc.

you can stream netflix with clear no problem. clear will not compete with comcrap or fios. i normally had no issue getting a signal with the mobile card anywhere in philly and the surrounding areas.

I pay $30/mo for comcast internet. I use netflix, hulu, and hbogo (friend's username), and i download everything else that i can't get from those places. I use an HD antenna for watching local news every once in a while and also throwing on the eagles games on the weekends to watch them lose. There's absolutely no use for cable tv. Call comcast and change your service to internet only and save your money.

^^Comcast never offered me $30/month internets...

Have Clear, have Netflix. I run netflix through the wii, while also on the the PC with no problems. Have DirecTv for cable, the combo is still about the same price as Comcasts cable after the promo runs out.

Clear IS noticeably slower then comcast. But in no way could I justify it. I even play WoW over Clear with pretty much no problems.

Both Clear and DirecTv are more reliable then comcast services.

That all being said, I'm pretty sure there is a tower within a quarter mile, probably an eighth.
