**** Your VW. (Mini Truck Content)

So I am always looking for fresh wheels for the daily. I have had stag'd M3 wheels, white american racing steelies, some stockers, and now I have tried the "vw" look. A set of 16x8.5 and 16x9.5 salad shooters, (1985 vette wheels), with a stupid amout of stretch in the rear, 205/40/16s all around. The truck looked pretty tight, but due to having such a low side wall, the bell of the truck was constantly scraping, to the point where it sounded like I was side swiping every car on the block on my way through the neighborhood, so off the wheels go, but enjoy the photos!

Awesome thread title haha. Kinda glad you're taking them off though, I think they are a little bit too small and dont really flow with the cleanliness off the truck. I bet sawblades would look pretty sweet and with a tire with some more sidewall, they wouldn't look too small and would probably raise it up enough to be drivable

Not a fan of the wheels but then again I don't really like solidish wheels on anything. Otherwise looks good.

1. my old truck looks great, i love what you did with it.

2. you're an asshole for taking off my twentypsi.com sticker off the rear window, that's the only one in existence!

You know those would look great with some real tires on them.

IMO they don't look good on there at all. Maybe if you did the c5/c6 wheels it would look a million times better, but that's been done before, and not that original.

I am getting a euro plate made of the title I would love sawblades, but this was just a cheap set of wheels so I figured I would try it, sawblades are harder to find.

Yeah, I am about trying things no one else is really doing, being normal is for queers. besides, newer vette wheels would make this thing into a monster truck, they are all 18s and 19s..

Stover- Justin's got it, static setup. But i am currently looking at picking up a bagged 98 s10 that lays frame, but its a real mess, bagged over leafs.

You're absolutely right about that haha. It looks good though dude, I dig the wheels on there, just not so much the stretch.

Yeah, the stretch idea was something I wanted to try because its not being done on mini trucks really. I know its very foolish and looks silly, but I gave it a shot, got some cool pictures, and now I know. The car/racing world is alot of trial and error to see what works, then everyone likes to just use what works, I like to be a trail blazer haha. On the topic of big snails, I have a new project I am looking to get into the works that involves a big snail, but that will be in a few months.

I dont think you are grasping the concept here.. There is only so low you can go before you bottom out on the wheel wells in the front, and the axle bottoms out on the frame in the rear.

So to go lower, I would have to remove my wheel wells, which are part of the body of the truck, not just some plastic liner and also cut the rear of the frame of the truck and weld in a c-notch to allow the axle to move higher up to lower the truck. Doing that would create a slew of a problems, like I had with my previous truck that was bagged...

SO, going lower is not an option with 19inch wheels. I have already been there and done that. Thats why new vette wheels are only on bagged trucks, and stock ride height trucks, but thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, I understand where you're coming from. I thought you were looking for suggestions on what wheels to get, so I said c5/6 wheels. I don't know much about the s10's in that year, and what takes to get them that low. But I hope to see what comes of this in the future, always loved a slammed mini truck.
