intense sound. How common is it for the gear lever to be right next to the door like that? He isnt seated in the center of the cockpit.

Well The car is right hand drive. The gear selector is on a panel next to the drivers right knee if im not mistaken. Most cars of that era (787b, R92CP, C9, etc) were setup like that.
