Hello tristate,

I never made a build thread for my old car so i'll mention a little about it before i go into detail about the new one..

The old:

94 300zx

Body was n/a, 5 speed emerald black paint with tan interior. Twin turbo motor was swapped in and many mods later it was putting down 400whp on 14 psi. I owned the car for about 5 years (which is uncommon for me, usually have a car for a year tops before i move on to something else) Recently decided I wanted to move on to something different so put it up for sale saying I would accept trades..Got a lot of trade offers, some i was fairly interested in, many i was not interested in which is expected...

Anyway, the other day I got an email offering me what turned into my new car... 2003 Lexus IS300

Car is black with black leather and suede interior, 5 speed auto (unfortunately), 92k miles.

Current mods: K sport coilovers, black grill, de-badged, hid's, carbon fiber interior trim..pretty much stock which is what i was looking for.

Plans:

The car has a few dents, dings, and scratches here and there so in the next few weeks i want to take care of those issues.

Either powder coating the stock rims or getting a new set of rims (thinking VOLK TE37 time attacks but not possitive yet)

Lowering it some more once i figure out what wheels are going on

Intake and exhaust - Would really like to go with a 3" cat-back but from what im told no one makes a 3" for the car so either going to go with a 2.5" or buy a n1 ti muffler and get someone to fab up some 3" piping to it..

Those aremy deffinate plans that will be completed shortly..

as for possible mods:

6 speed manual swap

Turbo set up - with all the supporting mods to go along with that

too hard to tell at this point how far i want to go with the car, might just keep it suttle or might go nuts ha..

yea i LOVED the z, the problem was it sat in my driveway 90% of the time meanwhile i was driving a pos beater..with this i can cut down to one car and go the practical but sporty route..wouldnt mind getting another Z eventually though...fun cars for sure

Let me 1st say i officialy hate you and am totaly jelious i want an IS in the worst way and you got a hell of a deal on that. Who can honestley say they have ever traded a 94 car for a 2003 car which im assuming was a straight up trade. Im going to be getting an IS down the road sooner or later. BTW i dont think they had a6 speed manual i think they were 5 speeds. I think you can do a supra transmission in them, Same engine just detuned a little.

yes straight up trade..

i think you may be right..it came in 5 speed manual not 6 speed..was thinking they paired it with the 6 speed since its a 5-auto..but i just looked into it more..

one other thing about the trade that im happy about is it went to a good owner and not some tool thats gonna beat it to the ground..dude also has a wide body sr swapped 240 and a supercharged m3..

yes, yes credit on it being one of my top 3 choices of cars i would trade the Z for goes to mike..we were sitting around b.s'ing one day and talking about different cars i liked and watched a few vids of high hp is300's and how easy it is to get power from them cause of the potential of the 2jz..

Even still. Thoes things are basicley a restyled RWD corolla on crack with an N/A supra engine in them not to mention a very reliable engine as well. The SC300's had them back in the day. When i was a lot attendent at toyota we got one of these in with high milage on it that went straight to wholesale but dident get its balls beatin off of it before it did. We did some inhumane things to that car and we parked it still running like a champ. You'll enjoy that car. Basicley preformance and luxury and copmpact all rolled into one package

yea i love my glorified toyota..

and mike yes the sentra is a beast watch out or it might unleash its 80 hp on you haha but cant complain about it since its a 91 and it only had 38k original miles on it when i bought it last feb..ha now it has around 58k..

get what the sentra? no it was from auto donation lot ha..yes i actually bought a car from there for the purpose of driving and not just for a demolition derby ha

and mike yes 20k, not all from delivering, but a good amount was ha.. but also driving back and forth from home to school, beach trips, mountain trips..ect ha actually suprised my self when i looked at it today and realized i put 20k on it in just over a year. ha in 1 year i put on half of what the original owner put on in 18 years. Original owner was 80 years old ha
