Never heard of them, which is weird especially since they're right in Oakhurst! Right near me as well... I'll ask around and see if any of my friend's have heard of them though... if you decide to go here, post your experience, I've been looking for good shops in the area.. just so I know where they are.

I've heard nothing but good things from the Honda community about these guys.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

definitely h2b, probably into a GSR LSD trans.

nothing's set in stone yet though, i might still go with a b series.

If you haven't started any of it yet, i'm selling an H2B hatch with a 4.7 final drive ITR trans... its in the marketplace if your interested.

Either way, what kind of setup you going for? NA or FI?

i saw your hatch, looks good. i'm just gonna do this car piece by piece though and then get the motor built at the end.

hopefully the car will end up with a BW S362 on it, i'd like to break 500 whp but you never know. i saw you got your car tuned at evans, i remember that dyno graph from his website when i was looking at what he's done with the h-series.

Thanks. Nice, yeah he's tuned all of my Honda's. You should be easily be able to break 500whp pretty easily on either B or H series.

My last car was a gt35r B-series. It made 500whp on pump gas with stock sleeves, and never had an issue with it... http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewt...hp?f=38&t=5147

If thats your final goal, it might be cheaper to just go with B-series. This way you can save about $900-$1000 and not have to get an h2b kit. But then again you will have a decent amount more torque on an H.

i'm really just trying to build a fun, nasty, more or less reliable street car and i wouldn't mind paying the extra money for the torque and spool with the extra 400cc's on an h22. i'm not really concerned with the actual dyno power, but it would be nice to hit 500.

a gsr is still in consideration though, that was my original plan. i used to hate on the h22 a lot, i'm coming from a k20 EK and an ep3 so i'm partial to the k series and i've also had a b20vtec... but the more i look into the h22 the more i want to boost one just for the crazy torque. who knows, i'll probably sleeve whatever motor i end up getting because the car is my dd and needs to stay together. the cost of a gsr long block + trans + mounts isn't that much cheaper than an h22 and a QSD h2b kit.

Yeah, good point. Lag was pretty bad with that car, it didn't hit full boost (20psi) until about 6k. Thats true about the pricing. H22s are pretty cheap.

so far it's looking like ~$800 for an h22 long block, $750 for a QSD h2b kit, and then whatever i can find an ls or gsr trans with an LSD for. a full gsr swap including everything from jdmenginedepot is $2500, so it's pretty much in the same ball park. only reason i would go with the gsr is if i decide not to sleeve the motor, because the gsr's don't have the stupid frm cylinder liners.

either way i'll probably have z10 assemble the motor since they're 15-20 minutes from me.
