Don't do what I do

Poolmike's Snow Blower Repair Manual

Warnings:
Do not attempt this at home.
Always wear properly approved safety attire.
Do not do what I do.

If you happen to 'catch' a rather large newspaper with your snowblower and jam it deep in the auger to a point where the unit CANNOT be disassembled....

Step 1) Saturate exposed parts of the violating newspaper with you favorite flamable liquid (Brakleen, 2+2, carb cleaner....)

Step 2) Light the saturated newspaper with lit match.

Step 3) Stand back and let the fire 'take care of things'.

Step 4) Repeat process until either a)the auger spins freely or b)you are sweeping up the smoldering remains, see Step 5

Step 5) Get a new snowblower dumba$$

Sorry, my camera batteries were dead. I also had to keep it 'low profile' so Pam wouldn't wonder what I was up to.

Anywho.... it worked well. It is all cleared up and running great.

The snowchute makes a really funny looking chimney.....

I've done that several times too. Its amazing what they will do to a full Sunday Inquirer. F-ing paper guy never leaves it in the same spot.

Although I've never had the inclination to clear the clog with fire. Maybe next time.

For some reason, I was taught that fire + gas powered machines was never a good idea.

Haha, good stuff. Seems my snowblower is too much of a wimp to even pick up the paper in the first place, lol.

I've thought about turbo charging it in the past but maybe a cheapie electric supercharger will be sufficient.

Unless the motor is full of carbon and is running higher compression I would think race fuel would actually make it slower since it is harder to burn. At the very least I bet it was harder to start.

I did use nitromethane in my parent's lawntractor when I was growing up. I actually want to say it made it faster but it could have all been in my head, too.

This is exactly why I say 'Don't do what I do'. I never said it was smart.
