Ever seen a subaru baja autocross?

Well now you have! I figured I'd post some videos from our autoX adventures today.

It was Rob's (subie_sleeper) first autoX in the baja and he did great! Here is a video of one of his runs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S75TxIe0oS8

Today was my 2nd autoX....did a lot better then my first time out. Here is a clip from one of my runs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XSp8XaUea4

Ben (Honestbob) ran his brand new hyundai, aka "the egg", since the wagon is in winter mode....didn't get any video but here is a pic!

No love for the egg or the baja? Well now that's just sad.

I like the Baja, but I don't get excited about driving through road cones.

Yea....the course is extremely small but it's good practice for all of us beginners.

I thought the same exact thing before I did my first one last month. It's actually quite fun. The price of admission for autoX is a LOT cheaper then track days / road courses. I'd rather drive through cones once a month then only be able to hit the track 2-3 times a year. That said...I think we'd all like to do track days eventually but for now autoX is the cheapest way to get out and do something.

I'm definitely hooked.

I REALLY can't wait for my bigger injectors & a retune now. Uber quick spool is already there.... A little more boost will eat up the tiny straights even quicker. Better tires & different pads for AutoX are on the list as well.
Oh yeah....... remembering the track so as not to get lost amongst the little cones..... that'll help too.

I think it takes auto-x to realize how crappy your tires can be rather then just driving it on the street. I realized that when we went down to drive the Tail of The Dragon.

Looks like fun.

Good job Rob! That's as nuts as seeing Chris' Forester at the auto-x.

I went into it expecting to burn off what was left of my Wintersport M3s
I got them in the winter of 06, switched out to summer rubber for four seasons and ran them from last winter 'till now. Needless to say, they're a few weeks from being completely bald Next time I AutoX I'll be on Sumitomo HTR Zllls, that should help a lot.
My new snows should arrive on Tuesday.
