What can I do about this? (foglight crack/hole)

So with a local car show coming up with some big prizes. I'm trying to do all the little stuff I've been meaning to do to make the car look nice and more complete.

With that said, I have the factory fogs on my car, and they are rusted on. I can get them off if I take the bumper off and drill out the bolts, but I'd like to explore other options of fixing this hole before I go through all that.

I only would like for it to look good for now. They don't work as it is, so they are just there for "cosmetic enhancement" lol. I've always thought about just taking them off and leaving them off until I fix it, but again, if I can find a decent solution for the hole for now. That would be cool.

I'd just find a new set & not worry about trying to fix these. They look good from a few feet away and really make the front of your car stand out. Just focus on getting a working set.

Just thought about a temporary fix by doing some type of laminex cover and darken them up or something. Some type of gray to 'smoke' them out a little but still have them visible maybe?

Yeah. The fact that they don't work is in the wiring somewhere. I just haven't had the time (nor do I have the knowledge) to diagnose it. A new set is about $200+ depending on which ones I get. Could beg bulbs, could be a relay, could be rotted/shorted wiring... who knows.

A new reflector/glass is $150 from Toyota but again, I have to take it off to replace that anyway and if I'm not mistaken, even replacing the bulbs requires the fogs to come off. If the bolts weren't rusted, it would be easy. But my motivation to take the bumper off to replace bulbs/work on why they don't work is minimal lol.

I'm going to talk to my friend this week about maybe putting some laminex/ some sort of smoked coating on them and see what he thinks. I do love the factory fogs, but that fog bugs the crap out of me every time I look at it or pictures of my car.

I think the yellow tint would be nice plus it'd be alot harder to see the cracks, just get rid of that sticker thingy and then throw that yellow tape on for the time being. It might actually look good.

Since you said they are rusted on, its say to say those things are toast with the way that lense is muffed.

Its most often rotted wiring combined with bad bulbs.

Your more than likely going to have to shell out the 200 bones for a new set.
