you can put any kind of motor in any car you just have to fabricate mounts. As in your case check out hasport and see if they have mounts it would kinda be pointless to swap one into a prelude as it would be slow id gett a h22 or a h23 and build it up it would be cheaper

aside from it being completely pointless, it's a dumb idea. does that even make sense? ehh, i dunno...
putting the B20 in your 'lude is going to be a lot of work and custom parts. it would literally be the exact opposite as my swap. i had B series everything in my GSR, then had to buy conversion shift linkage, axles, mounts, exhaust, and a few other parts from the prelude to make my H22A work. you'd be replacing the same things, except the difference is that no one makes conversion stuff to go from an H series to a B series whereas i just went online and bought my conversion parts. if you were dead set on using a certain B series motor in order to make the car lighter for autocross or road racing, then you might be able to justify spending the money on the custom work. if not then a B20 is about as useless to you as a poopy flavored lolipop. call around to junkyards and see if anyone has an H23 for you to just replace your stock motor. i would guess a longblock should go for no more than $500. get it without the accessories and intake/exhaust manifold and you'd probably pay much less. hell i've seen three full H23 swaps in my local u-pull-it junkyard myself. even if you wanted to go all out, you could get a JDM H22A into your car for probably no more than $900. if you wanted the H22A trans, expect to pay about $1700 total from an importer. the prices have gone down now, i payed $2000 for my full H22A swap almost two years ago.

hmm..
not too sure about the reasoning here, but ok. why would you send the car to the junk yard if all it needs is a motor, ecu, and a $5 battery terminal? i'm not exactly rolling in cash either so i feel your pain there, but to replace the blown H23 with another H23 will cost next to nothing.

That's why I'm thinking about calling the junk yard. I mean I have the engine hoist and everything and my friend has tools but I've never done it. And a shop wants 800-1000 to swap it.

It's a straight swap to put the h23 in there.

if you have a 1995 Prelude Si with a blown stock H23, you buy an H23 engine by itself and you take the entire engine/trans out, pull off the trans, replace the clutch while you're in there, put the trans on the new motor and drop it in. that's as simple as it gets. you're doing nothing more than replacing a broken part with an identical good one, no different than a bad alternator or PS pump. it's just that replacing the motor is a larger project and a different part.
even if you don't have an Si trans, the one you have will still bolt up. the Prelude S, Si, and Si VTEC all have identical transmissions except for the guts. S (F22) is the 'slowest' trans, Si (H23) gets a little better, and Si VTEC (the H22) is a close ratio... the 'fast' trans.

read this:
http://www.jrcormier.com/prelude/engineswap register for and then search on preludeonline.com, absoluteprelude.com, gen5alive.com, honda-tech.com, superhonda.com, etc. there's a TON of information out there about H22 swaps into preludes. it's a simple direct swap so just about everyone with a prelude does it. working on BB4 Preludes is like building with Legos. everything from each model works with the other engines and models... with only minor exceptions.
