Anyone know why the dome lights stay on?

I recently got my 09 Mazda 3 and the lights for the interior were a dingy yellow color. I decided to swap the bulbs for LED's but now when I have the lights set on the door setting the stay faintly lit when all the doors are closed. I have not done any mods that require tapping in to that electrical wiring. Any suggestions?

have you tried to see if the stock bulbs do the same?

does your new bulb have a resistor in/on it?

I have seen some cars give the vanity like 1v to keep in a "ready" state which would be enough to power a LED...

do you have any electrical knowledge? have you check the circuit to make sure that voltage is only going to it when the door is open?

this site has good & horrible people on here.

If you make a post & at least show you did some leg work on tryin to diagnose it, you wont get ****ty comments back...but if you do nothing or it looks like your just fishing for answers....your gonna have a rough time adjusting

no resistors on/in the bulbs, but i didnt know about the 1v "ready" state. when i turn both the map and dome lights to the "door" setting only the dome light stays barely lit, but when i switch the dome light to "off" and the map light is on "door" the map light stays lit. sounds like its the ready state. i'll meter it out when i get a chance. thanks man

ok guys, so i got to mess around with the lights today.

I put the stock bulb in the dome light socket. The stock bulb did not stay lit as the LED did. I also checked that the map light LED did not stay lit when i switched the stock bulb in the dome light to "door" with the doors closed. So i figured i would meter it out and when the doors open, the circuit has 12v running through but when the doors close there are still 7 something volts running through, is that a short somewhere in that line?

Works like its supposed to with the stock buld... doen't work with the LED. Why would you think your car is the problem?
