Police: Sleeping Man Beaten With Hammer On Subway

What would you have done if you were on the subway and saw this happening? The news is constantly saying: "and NO ONE was trying to help the victim..." Would you help?

What would you have done if you were the one being hammered? (that's what she said)

I may be small... but a well placed shot to someones nuts does wonders.

People shouldn't be standing around doing nothing... especially with someone wielding a hammer... a knife, throw **** at them... a gun, do something if you can... who knows, you might be next, may as well go out hero

just read that **** and watched the clips... 10 people witnessed and did nothing, they should be ashamed...

obviously this guy had a reasoned, perceived or real... this was premeditated. A hammer is way to personal to be random... either way, someone should have done something. If I stood around and that guy got killed, i'd feel responsible for not doing anything

I gotta agree.. It's not like it was a knife where you could easily get hurt trying to help. It's a hammer. Just come up behind him and Rear Naked Choke him. 10 people, even two coulda just grabbed an arm or something. He probably woulda ran away if even one person stepped up.

Thats pretty ****ty of all those witnesses.

If you guys are even in a situation like this the solution is simple.... Punch the attacker in the throat. He will drop like a sack of brinks and he will not get up for awhile.

so you punch him in the throat- he must be facing you, with a hammer in his hand

that is a relatively soft area though... but seriously, hammer blow to the temple

or grab his arm as he's pulling back to take another swing, move his arm in that direction (extend the back back swing) and kick him behind the knee. His momentum will bring him down, while he's stunned trying to figure out what just happen punch him square in the nose and break it

Its easy for everyone to SAY what they would do in a situation like that...I for one would probably be to shocked to react and wouldnt be the first one to attack the guy...BUT I would probably try and get a group of people together to help the guy out...if there were 10 people watching I think they could overtake the dude with the hammer.

WTF is wrong with this world today....That video made me sick

hell no lol all he has to do is find your head and swing the hammer teeth back and insert them into you skull if anything give him a jumping upward kick to the mouth if connecting right that f his day up

i would have tried to jump in, it's just in my nature. I've helped a few people in my life that I didn't know one bit. I just go back to that old mindset that "i hope someone would do the same for me or my family".

If he had a gun that's a different story. Everyone of those passengers should def be ashamed for just sitting there.

any kick above the knee is for show and damn pretty useless in a train anyway.

A punch is faster and more accurate, especially in such a tight area. A nice kick to this guys knees would have done wonders... get enough of your body into it and break is knee. He'll be in too much pain to do **** to anyone after that

I just couldn't deal with myself if I just sat there and watched a guy get beat with a hammer. I mean, it's not like the victim instigated in the least bit. It was a random attack it seems. If that happened to me on public transit and a crowd of people just sat there and watched, I'd be beyond pissed off.

I'm 5' 3" and I weigh about 112 lbs soaking wet. What could I have done? The guy was at least 6 feet tall, 200 lbs. He would have clobbered me.

I'm apprehensive getting on a bus by myself. I would never get on a train or subway alone.
