Getting a metal sleeve out, ver. Failsauce
![]() ![]() The problem is that #### wont. So far I've tried to press them out with a 12ton press and its been no go. Big socket on the end, small socket on the front and shoved it in a vise, and that moved the sleeve maybe a mm or 2 and then was no go. ![]() ![]() I tried to cut the **** out of with a dremel, and its totally mangled but the inner sleeve is so diesel that even with a screw driver and hammer, even the little peices barely moved, much less bent, So how the **** do I get this mutha' out. Next thing I'm going to try is my die grinder with a burr bit and just go to town. ![]()

wow that looks like fun, you could try cutting it into sections with a body saw, also a heavy duty air hammer might help get things moving. A burr bit and die grinder should get it out though if thats what you have.

DTSS eliminators? Had those on my old T2. We ended up finding a socket that fit perfectly and beat it out. Mine weren't too bad though. Then we used a die grinder and cut the beat dtss bushing in half to get the screw out.

Yup good ol' dtss bushings. The press helped me push out the sleeve that the screw sits in and the rubber bushing itself, now all thats left is the metal sleeve in the aluminum hub. I guess I'm gonna torch that fuker and then rape it with the die grinder.

Try heating it up and smacking it out. We did it on my TII, never any of my NA's. I don't know how bad yours is but we got it out fairly easy, well, it was still a bitch, but didn't nead to cut it or anything. Just a socket and a rubber mallet. God damn fc's haha.

looks like that piece is off the car, why not take it up to a shop w/ a press and have them pop it out and the new one in real quick? I can't imagine it would be that expensive
