really dumb mac question

like the title says... how do you uninstall a program? just drag it to the trash? i want to get rid of some stuff but i wasnt sure if dragging it to the trash bin would mess it up..

To delete things drag them to the trash can. To do a permanant delete, you can Control click the trash can and click empty trash without viewing its contents OR just click on the trash can and it will show you everything in there-if you want just a few gone you can select them and go to the drop down menu (gear-looking thing) and click empty trash there.
