Ford Recall

I had a 2000 F150 that burned up and now look at this.....

Ford recalling 3.8 million vehicles
Trucks and SUVs recalled for switch that could cause fires. Also, Toyota issues service bulletin.

Do you get anything from them because of this? That sucks, man.

wow, this is nuts. i swear i read an article about a woman sueing ford over this MONTHS ago, and they wouldnt admit responsibility. the truck burned in their garage and they lost their entire house.

Take the number of vehicles in the field, (A), and multiply it by the probable rate of failure, (B), then multiply the result by the average out-of-court settlement, (C). A
times B times C equals X...

If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

My insurance company gave me a really good settlement, way more than the truck was worth. I think the truck was worth 18000 and they gave me 23000 minus my deductible. We then sued FMC and the dealership that my truck was serviced at because the weeks leading up to it burning up, it was in there several times for electrical problems. This eventually settle out of court 2 years later resulting in my insurance co. recovering their money, my deductible, plus a little extra for me.
