HIE B&W film

Ok I know not many posted up when I asked who still shoots with film, but I will still go out on a limb and see if anyone has shot with HIE film. I have a roll and plan on shooting soon. Just curious if anyone has some helpful hints for me, the film isn't cheap so I don't want to waste too much of it on learning lol. I'm going to be shooting at night, hopefully with some moonlight so some general settings would come in handy oh and just incase some don't know what it is by that name it is also called High Speed infrared Black and White film.

I have never shot with it, but from what I heard a few years ago you should really load and unload the film in a dark-box. Also put a piece of electrical tape over the opening (when the film has been rewound) and keep it in a black cannister. Just some suggestions i heard to prevent light bleeding on the film (some of it might be overkill, but it will help).

Hey thanks for the post, I did know about the tape across the back, I was only recently told about loading it in the dark. Another thing I was told is that you have to use a fully manual camera, if you don't the beam of light that reads the film speed in an auto will actually kill the film.
