Quick ? For The Racing Forum

My Brothers Friend has a 2002 Camaro Z28 Autotragic with an Slp Air Box, Magnaflow Cat-back thinks he can dog my buddies 2004 SRT-4 with AEM CAI, Mopar Cat-Back, AGP WGA, Turbo XS MBC, Greddy Catch Can, Mopar STS. What do you guys think the outcome of this race will be...I personally believe the SRT would walk it pretty hard considering he pulled on an 01 T/A WS6 with hurst shifter and K&N Filter. But lemme know what u guys think

To be completley honesty you can't just post the mods and expect a strait answer, its all in the driver.

From experience, a BONEstock auto 4th gen LS1 should be in the low 13's, mid 13's at slowest, and anywhere from 103-107. Compare that to what srt-4's run, since I have no clue.

His 02 z28 should DEFINATELY be running around 13.2@105-108.

Neither car has crazy power mods. I'd equate the airbox on the Chevy to the MBC on the SRT-4. The WGA is the only other real power mod.

Out of the hole, LS1 almost no doubt, unless the Chevy driver is a dolt and the SRT-4 driver really knows how to launch. From a roll the SRT-4 will be closer.

ninja edit: ^^stock SRT's can run high 13's with a good driver. I can't see the LS1 losing really. Each car is different though, run them then let us know.

z28 auto probably has 2.73's (look at the door code on your brother's car, if it says GU2 then it has 2.73's if it says anything different it has 3.23's). that can make a big difference right there in the outcome of the race.

who cares about from a roll, doesn't matter.

1st post for me . Finally somthing I have some background in. Transam's and Camaro's (98-02) all came with Hurst shifters. A4's have the 2.73's M6's the 3.42's
01-02 had none of that air pump b.s.,better flowing heads, manifolds, and the LS6 intake. all in all a good 15 h.p. better than the 98-00's. They normally put down 300+ stock. And the low 13's to mid story is dead on with the driver of course. I have an 01 with just headers and a tune going through the stock catback and it put down 345 h.p. 370 t.q to the rear wheels. If the Camaro should def win.

WTF? I'm confused why it's a different story from a roll, someone please chime in....

Just because you have a turbo doesn't mean you have a 1000rwhp supra.

from a roll is a diffrent story I like racing from a roll better and my car pulls like a mother f'er from a roll. Have never raced a srt4 but I put a legnth or two on a CAI+tune+exhaust C5 from a 20mph roll. Traction? What traction?

The curse of the SRT is FWD. The LS1 will take the SRT from a dig like stated before, due to the fact that FWD launchs = . In all hosesty the LS1 should beat the SRT both times from a dig and a roll. The SRT should be able to keep up a lot better in the roll. Also another thing that is holding back the SRT is the DP, throw a full TBE on it and it should be a little better of a race. LS1's are quick cars, but never under estimate the SRT or the most important factor the driver. Should be a good run.

Screw the roll stuff. The Ls1 should take it from a dig easily. That is why I love rwd, not as many problems as fwd haha.
