Same here. Everything I can think of that is close by is either ridiculously underpaying or just generally horrible (fast food, convenience store, etc.). I have a good job that pays the bills just fine, so for a second job I want to find something half decent that's not going to make me want to bash my head against a wall since it's just for some extra cash. I wouldn't mind a Saturday/Sunday retail job, but anything non-Walmart I can think of is too far away, making it pointless. Mediocre pay + 45 minute+ drive = might as well stay at home and waste my weekend being completely unproductive. lol

I'm typing all of this while imagining myself in the "first world problems" meme picture. I never thought I'd be Reddit-ing in real life...

i want to work a ****ty job where my current salary is 3-4 times that of the store manager. where i make like $7/hr and get treated like **** so i can be all like, "**** you dude... you work a ****ty ass job and think you're the ****... peace out!"

ultimately i want to do this as payback to all the ****ty managers i had in my pre-career days. i'm not sure i'd get hired though pulling up in the vette.

^ that too. Park the vette and go buy a piece of sh*t Schwinn on craigslist for like $10 and ride it to the interview.

On second thought, I think it might actually be sort of fun to work somewhere horrible for like a week.

Same,I have a job that pays all the bills and leaves me about 400$ of expendable income a month, but Id like to have more income and I don't do much with my spare time currently.

That post <3. I also make 50 cents less than the current asst. who basically flipped his desk when he found out.

I had a part time job for about 2 months before I realized the little bit of money wasn't worth wasting my weekends away. Guess I'll have to wait a tad longer then I wanted for long tubes and seats.

this is why i havent pursued a second job outside of some occasional side work that i can do from home. and honestly, any actual second job, that wasnt in my field, wouldn't be worth my time financially compared to my f/t pay. I should see if any local companies have websites and need someone to take care of them... charge a retainer fee and bring in an extra couple of grand a month.

No you dont.

Find a bar that does "celebrity bartending" and get in there. Its pretty much an interview the first night you work, where you dont get shift pay (usually about $10) but you split the tips with the other bartenders that you're set up with. We've hired plenty of people that came in for celebrity bartending gigs because they brought in people and knew how to pour a beer.

My cousin took night time bartending classes for just a few weeks and she got a job as a bartender. Its not like a super busy college town bar, but she says she makes anywhere from 150-300 dollars in tips just working Friday and Saturday nights. Shes got boobs though... But still, I honestly see more male bartenders than female.

I could probably get you a job at Paddys if you dressed like a leprechaun.

I dont think the customers would like you carrying around a large cod, though.

Just thought about the barback and asked a few of the guys I know to ask the owners they know at local establishments. I can pour a beer but I don't know alcohol for **** so im fine just being a bar bitch on a friday/saturday night. Even if its only for thesummer I could use the extra money

I used to bartend eons ago at a night club. It was definately a good gig. Barbacks make decent money as long as the bartender is taken care of. My barback at the time would make 150-200/night off my bar alone. He had 2 other ones he was also stocking.
