Getting rid of my gigantic sub box and broken sub.

Here are the specs of my new box:

10" opening
5.25"-6" top mount depth
0.32 cu.ft sealed

Amp specs:

Class D Mono
RMS Power Output: 300w x 1
Power at 2 Ohms: 500w x 1

I don't want booming bass. Just good low end sound for rock and country. I don't listen to pop, hiphop, or rap.

you deff got the right idea with a sealed 10" sub....check out elemental designs....they build awesome subs, amps and speakers....but they will give you all the bass u need

pioneer sub

Check this out. The air space in your new enclosure is a bit tight for any 10" sub but this is pretty close. A little bit of poly fill should suffice. RMS/Nominal power handling is 300W so its perfect @ 4 ohm with your amp.

^nick knows his stuff as well.

I'd go with a JL sub if you can find one in your price range. Have used all of their subs with success. Even their slim subs are decent for what you're looking for IMO

Thanks. Funny thing is I was looking at getting this exact sub unless someone said differently. I found it for $100 shipped new, so that's definitely a plus.

alpine type R subs are cleannnnn and they hit hard.

I agree. My buddy has one. Sounds great. However, won't work for my application. Need a bigger box.

Honestly though you should check your local pawn shop. I've bought many subs/amps/headunits from mine and their relatively cheap and usually nice. Thats where I got my Polk 12 inch and it HITS, the only problem is that it doesnt hit on high bass only on the lower tones.

Some of the Type-Rs will fit, but the box volume is the problem. I have a very small volume to work with and the TypeR needs double what I have. Will not sound good.
