Good & Bad for Chaser and FRPBODYKITS

So, I have never been in the group buys with Chaser, nor have I planned to buy anything from them unless I am physically at their warehouse.

I decided to give ebay through FRPBODYKITS (one of Chasers distributors) a try as it was a GREAT deal and I figured when it came I would confirm bad/good fitment. Keep or sell it, etc etc.

What I did was searched MR2 Carbon Fiber and I saw the Chaser Carbon oem style cooling panel, for $1 + $25 shipping. I ended up sniping it at the end for $41.01. $66.01 and 2 weeks later I got it and it is a GREAT PRODUCT but a bit hard to install (still working on this). But the transaction itself has been extremely SMOOTH with frpbodykits (decent communication).

Good Job to FRPBODYKITS and Chaser for this!

Now on to the bad part. Purchased the CHASER OEM CARBON DOOR Panels through ebay from FRPBODYKITS. They came in 3 weeks (ordered/paid on 12/20/10 and got 1/10/11). Pretty quick and to my satisfaction, GJ to Chaser and FRPBODYKITS.

When I opened the BOX which was NOT damaged. Everything was extremely packaged well inside and super bubble wrapped. My UPS guy was like WTF i gotta wait for you to open that , LOL. So I opened it we saw the cracks blah, blah...... He told me he has worked for UPS for 30 years and I can confirm for the last 11. There is no way he could put down the package is damaged upon arrival, but he can return the part which I was informed NOT to do by the company. So I signed for it and he told me if need be he will try to add it in some notes etc, etc and if need be he can confirm.
Moving on I walk into my house take pictures, send them to FRPBODYKITS and confirm from Anthony (who picks up the phone) that he got the email and he sees clearly that its damaged. He said he has to put in a claim, they take between now and 2 months and when they get the claim money (along with having my money) they would send me a new part, etc, etc.

I went into this knowing CHASER sucks and what they have done to our community by taking deposits for parts and not delivering and keeping the money, so I decided to use my credit card through paypal and ebay. I got a chargeback approved, etc etc. So I emailed FRPBODYKITS and told them to send me a shipping label to get their parts out of my house as I have my money and they are using my house as storage

I feel bad for the middle man but maybe it will have them think twice about their relationship with Chaser as I explained to them several times that Chaser has been having issues with the car community.....

This is mainly something to watch out for with CHASER. Also I dont understing why I have to wait for claims etc and such when this is not my fault as a customer.

Post pictures of the back of those panels. Is it all Fiberglass with a thin layer of carbon? Usually the spider cracks are inevitable with fiberglass/carbon pieces. Even if it wasn't cracked, as soon as you install that panel and it sees some use, it will start to spider.

God not again on my RS forum there is literally 10 threads of "F++K chaser!" people getting ripped off from them. I bought a cooling panel and flares from them but i was at there MD location so i saw what i was getting. They are very sketchy

i have purchase from chaser for the past 3 years. only problem i had was the wrong rear bumper design which was taken care of within 3 weeks. i currently just purchase some body panels for the rolla with out a hitch. but i see your dilema with the carbon fiber. as i see its not that bad of experience. just a lil bump in the road.

I ordered overfenders from frpbodykits and I can say nothing bad about them, except their resin smells hahaha. Fenders came wrapped in massive amounts of bubble wrap with no damage

never had a problem with quality, fitment sucks sometimes but other than that chaser seems good for the price

my complaints are they could make sure theyre molds are right cause my re ad9 replica hood needs some patch work on the edges they didnt use enough fiberglass in some spots and I also have to drill out the hole on my hood bracket to get the last bolt in as they didnt position it right and 3 bolts go in but not all 4 the lines are almost right on though... but I cant complain about my replica cw headlight conversion just needed to make my own brackets for my lights as the catz lights are impossible to find anymore... but for the price you cant beat it honestly especially if youre close enough to pick up the items... also have replica feed sides I got from them fiberglass and absolutely nothing wrong with them at all... heres pics of their headlights on my fd along with they're hood but its a little dark to see that. I still recommend they're parts if you're on a budget and don't mind being a little creative.

running lights...

high beam...

chaser blows. They sent me a damaged green carbon hardtop, unfinished and weather seals weren't OEM they were CRAP, and told me "if you want, you can come to our shop in MD and trade it so we don't risk damage in transit again" so I went and traded it but they didn't have any green carbon left, only a kevlar. Pissed me off. Took it anyway. The way it attaches in the back looks ghetto, the top leaked in the rain like there wasn't even a top on the car. Worthless product, waste of money, miles, gas, and time. Eventually sold it for $1,000 a loss of $500 and the gas to get to MD and back. Bought an OEM hardtop for $250 from some guy who posted on craigslist right before I checked it, jumped on that **** immediately. Had to get it painted though. It was red and ****ed up.

Never buy Chaser again.
