The old axle was bolted to the block with the wrong bolts and the old boot was torn in half. I wasn't the one working on the car, so I can't give you all of the info. The new axle was put on and I guess my one mechanic used the same bolts to bolt the axle back up to the block. Since they were the wrong bolts, they ended up backing themselves out and the axle seperated at the boot. That axle was salvaged (just reclamped it to the joint) and was bolted back up with no problems after the correct bolts were used. I guess my mechanic didn't catch the fact that the wrong bolts were put in there and no problems occurred while it was at the shop and on the dyno, so there was no way of any of us to know there was a problem with the car.
