thanks guys. the fireworks were all set off from a barge out on 9th street so we got a good view form the beach. these were all shot manual around f8-f11 and anywhere from 1 sec to 45 secs at iso 100. on the longer ones i held a plate up in front of the lens to block the light and then just moved it as i saw one about to burst so i could get more fireworks into the one shot. on the shorter ones i just used my remote shutter release and opened and closed it when i thought it would look cool. i took only about 70 pics and edited 20 so far so its not too bad. it was good cuz it looked like it was gonna rain the whole time and then about 5 minutes after the finale it started to drizzle as we walked back to our house from the beach and then poured the rest of the night so we lucked out.
