Ha yeah he owns a Supra and I got the spark plug cover from him...
The engine bay is a little dusty and taking the photo with a flash really isn't all that flattering so I think it looks a little more decent than it may seem. It definitely doesnt look as nice as a fresh paint job would but T think its still pretty decent, decent enough for now at least. T'm about to put on a new firewall blanket so that will look nice, and the inner fenders will get filled in with fuse box, battery, intake, fmic piping, etc... I don't think you'll see too much of it once I'm done.
As for the wheels... they are 18x9 +31 with a 245 tire and 18x10.5 +30 with a 295 tire. I know there are guys squeezing 305s and 315s in there but they're using higher offsets to make it happen... my wheel fitment is pretty aggressive, and I think it looks great. other guys with these offsets are using a stretched 275 tire and it just doesnt look as good on a Supra, IMO. Hopefully with a little fender work i'll be able to make these fit without rubbing without having to raise the rear too much cause I think it looks totally badass right now
So the to do list currently is: wait for firewall blanket to show up hopefully early next week, wait for one more brake line to show up hopefully end of next week, install blanket and brake lines, treat rust spot with POR-15 or similar product, drill out a few holes on my exhaust manifold so it fits, put vband flange onto the manifold for tial 44mm ewg, then install new wiring harness, intake manifold, and everything on that side.
The exhaust side will be mostly easy, except that I have to get a downpipe fabbed up, might just get the car running without one and drive it to a shop to have the downpipe fabbed... I've still got to figure that part out, haha.
I was going to polish the intake manifold, throttle body, water neck, and who knows what else but its so time intensive that I think I'm going to put my energy into getting the car going and down the road I'll work on polishing.
Other notes since I havent been updating much...
-I'm also installing either a VPC or a MAP-ECU 2 as far as engine management goes.
-I have also decided to do a fuel system now, probably basing the system off of fuelinjectorclinic.com rail, injectors, and fpr, and adding a second denso pump, lines, and filter.
-I need to decide if I'm sticking with my 61mm turbo or if I should just go to a 67mm turbo instead.
This month has been an expensive one between buying a lot of replacement parts from Toyota and getting all of the single turbo stuff, deciding to do a fuel system, and the list goes on. I know how cars go though... it always costs more and takes longer than you originally expected. I'm still really motivated though because I know the final outcome is going to be pretty sweet.
