Go in pairs, preferably with someone who has done it before. And make sure you find someone who works there who will show you the knots a couple times, just so you don't forget.
+1 on the shoes as well. Find your most well-worn sneakers if you're not renting climbing shoes (renting is highly recommended though), that way you can get a decent feel of the grips.
Don't try to climb all with your arms. Use your legs or you'll be dusted in a half hour. And if you go to a place with ground up tires as the bedding on the floor, you'll be sneezing black stuff for an entire day.
You just made me realize how long its been since I have gone rock climbing. I need to get back into it. Where are you looking to do it at? North Summit Climbing Gym in Wind Gap is my favorite place to go.
