I don't know why, they aren't even close to being a proven gun. Up until about 3 months ago, the gun was complete vaporware. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying one and picking up a 2nd for my old man, but if it's anything like the KABOOM-15, I mean, Carbon-15 that Bushmaster produced, it's NOT going to live up to it's name. The XCR does the same things as the Bushmaster ACR (formerly Masada), has a couple of foreign military contracts, and well, it's out right now. You're not getting a complete surprise. The FN SCAR is another one that's battle "tested" now, with all of the SCAR and SOCOM trials it went through. THAT'S the gun that I really can't wait for, and should be just about everyones favorite gun. In the meanwhile, the FS2000 that I don't even have yet will probably be my new favorite, than the XCR, than the PS90.

They are only going to be about $1500 BTW, so it's definitely a reasonable purchase!

I want one...

ITSTOCK, do you have a firm date when the Masada is released? That will be where my return goes, me thinks.
Well even though it could easily be produced in a semi and full auto version, it's still going to be either an AOW or SBR, making it an NFA item. It's wishful thinking that this would actually be ready to be sold within the next 2 years, more likely, never.

As to the ACR, Bushmaster is claiming live fire demonstrations by the end of March, with a SUGGESTED civilian release date of end of spring this year. It's HIGHLY doubtful, and again, wishful thinking. Most all gun manufacturers do this with release dates, lay out a date, then realize that there are all kinds of problems with either the rifle itself, the components or design, the tooling to make the rifle, or the actual material used. Look for it in the fall, trying to beat out the release of the BETTER and PROVEN gun, the FN SCAR, which is do to be released in the fall of this year, or first quarter of 09 (it's already in mass production, so it's very likely this WILL be ready on or before they suggested).
