A very large portion of the world spends more time staring at a screen than heroin addicts spend under their high. A senior citizen is more likely to get addicted to drugs than a youngster because they place faith in someone who spent years memorizing how to troubleshoot people. My 77 year old grandmother has an opiate and benzo addiction while I, who has experimented with all the drugs I previously mentioned, has never been. Btw, did you know that benzo addiction is worse because withdrawl can actually kill(heroin withdrawl, while horrific, very rarely kills)? If people are so bent up about addiction with young people, why does the media suppress the fact that a greater % of senior citizens are addicted to these very same drugs that are abused by youngsters?
All it comes down to is that the majority of people are absolutely clueless about drugs(the definition of which can extend to include tv, video games, the computer, etc.), what they do, and how addiction works. "Not all who wander are lost"-I forget the author.

contrary to popular beliefs, the only drug an individual can die from due to the effects of withdrawl is alcohol. all of the other withdrawl symptoms from other drugs just make you wish as if you were dead
