my buddy does his every 6 months just to be safe, and he says it works great...at first i thought this was you looking for a product judging by the thread title, and I was going to post "crc" but i see you got it. If it isnt a hassle to get to on subies, id check it every or every other oil change, if it really did what you say it did for your car id say its well worth the time and effort to keep it clean
