The final point I was trying to make is that, since they have already resumed flights (we never stopped), how would Russia respond if they found out that we had an armed bomber flying around? My guess would be that they would arm their bombers, then we would arm ours and now we are re-escalating tensions. That is the reason IMO that the U.S. released this information and publicly punished those responsible.
