McAfee Security Suite is very good with blocking and monitoring which files change on your system and if bad/malicious scripts are kicked off.
You sure you were downloading too much or were you the victim of a denial of service attack? Anywho, what was the quota they gave you for how much you did download/how much you're allowed? Good luck
