with the supra i was planning on eventually doing a 1jz swap and then doing light modifications (intake, exhaust, boost controller) maybe down the road i'll throw a garett in there and then beef up the internals, but while i am waiting to do the swap i would be driving it stock it wouldn't matter to me if it was a factory turbo or not because it's going to have a new motor anyway
the rx-7 i haven't looked into as much but i'd probably get a turbo2 and eventually bridge port it or street port it. i'd also do exhaust, intake, etc.
I think they are pretty comparible, the RX-7 obviously weighs less but has less power while the supra is on the heavier side but the 7mgte makes 230ish hp and the 1jz is 280hp so it's basiclly weight vs. power
