New DD (Officially a DD) - 2007 Infiniti G35x - PICS!
So I'm just reserving a space for now since I really have nothing interesting to add until I'm back home.
I picked up my new 2007 Infiniti G35x on Saturday afternoon from Infiniti of Willow Grove. I wasn't expecting it until next Friday, so I was excited when I got a call this past Friday afternoon that it had just come off the truck. It's platinum graphite exterior, graphite interior with african rosewood trim, premium package, and splash guards. It is definitely going to take a little getting used to, especially with that weird thing called a backseat behind me and AWD. However, it rides a lot smoother, is almost a full second faster, has way more features, and is a much better overall package than the Crossfire (which goes back in August). A lot of people know that I had another car on order, but I got annoyed when I found out that it wouldn't be here until September, so I started looking for a "practical" car. I began browsing the AWD sport/luxury sedan market and eventually ended up with the Infiniti. I wasn't originally planning on going this route until later down the road, but I suppose it makes more sense to start with a car that I can drive under any conditions and then pick up a "weekend" car when the timing is right (early spring?).
Anyway, some info on the new car:
3.5L V6, DOHC, 24-valve, 306 hp @ 6,800 rpm, 268 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm, 7,500 rpm redline.
5-speed automatic with manual shift mode and Downshift Rev Matching.
"Intelligent" AWD (100% RWD under optimal conditions, will transfer up to 50% of the torque to front wheels when conditions demand).
The list of features is rather long...
Bi-xenon HID's, dual zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, keyless entry (lock/unlock by touching the door handle) and push button ignition, heated front seats, one-touch auto-up/down windows, and the list goes on. The premium package adds things like one-touch open/close/tilt sunroof, Bose "Studio on Wheels" audio system with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 playback, auto-dimming rearview mirror w/ compass and heated side mirrors, bluetooth hands-free phone system (sync with the car and make calls through the HUD or with voice commands), memory seats and adjustable gauge cluster (I can adjust the seats/mirrors and move the entire gauge cluster in addition to telescoping/tilt steering wheel, and the entire setup is linked to my key fob...the seat and wheel also move back when the car is turned off for easier entry/exit).
So, now that I'm done sounding like a car commercial, I will have pictures next Saturday when I am back home. I picked the car up and got to drive it for a few hrs, then I had to fly to KC this morning for work. Updates and mod plans to follow.
