I haven't seen this yet, but I am filing it under "Spiderman 2". Everyone gave that movie great reviews and the audience loved it. I turned it off after Octopus (or whatever that guy's name is) was controlling the fusion experiment gone wrong - what a terrible movie (the worst). Terrible acting, horrible effects, unbelievable events, it had everything I hate. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't. It's a superhero movie I know, but at least Batman "explained" some of the events, and X-Men is a guilty pleasure. It's the attention to detail that makes or breaks an action film for me I guess.
Bay is an awful director / producer, period. He has pumped out some of the worst **** in Hollywood history with his cookie cutter formula. I cannot stand the complete "suspend all of your beliefs" style of movie making. If you wreck a car, wreck a real car and film what happens. Don't wreck a car with 200 gal of gasoline triggered to explode instantly on collision. We (the audience) just aren't that stupid. This is carried out on nearly every film today and I just won't give him another opportunity at my $20 to see this in theaters.
The Brown List of Michael Bay:
Texas Chainsaw massacre remake
Pearl Harbor
Armageddon
Bad Boys II
The Rock
Bad Boys
Miami Vice
I loved TF all through childhood, but was a little upset that Bay would be doing the remake. I'll probably see this on DVD, and end up turning it off half way through.
Transformers, the Movie (original animated) FTW.
