Yes, the weekends are a blast. You should try it out. I worked one day in June at the SCCA track day there (ran my car the other), and racing weekends are much better. There is an F&C school done at Summit Point in the spring each year. It is held by the DC region SCCA in conjunction with the driver school, so you should get to throw all sorts of flags as drills too.
