you need to look at the stock quotes. XM is around $35/share and predicted to hit 42 in a year. Sirius is $7/share and predicted to be $7 in a year, not to mention the loses Sirius posts quarterly get bigger and bigger. Granted some of that might turn around when Stern comes on, but they still need to pay his HALF BILLION DOLLAR salary. We'll see who's around in 10 years.

i think you're a tool....

also there is news about xm and sirius merging... but i dont know how valid that is... and when you think of it... if/when sirius overtakes xm... sirius will kick over 30 a share...and xm will probably level out... xm is older...and they have the GM contract... what else do they have for the future...nothing...

sirius has stern which is huge... and they are still a young company...

i say sirius will far exceed xm in the future
Any company that would pay Martha Stewart $30 million and give her a 24 hour channel for homemaking ideas is out of its mind. I understand that they are trying to build a bigger female audience, but do you really think that is going to work? How well are her ideas going to translate to radio? Her talent is visual not audible. "sirius has stern which is huge" OK, that's fine but it is also a huge contract that they need to pay. Even Mel Karmazin said himself that he won't be making any more deals because they need to boost cash flow. If there was talks about an unlikely merger, XM denies this, it was because Siruis is needs XM's cash. I am not saying XM is gonna be successful, but by looking at the financials of both companies, I'm glad my money is not on Sirius. As for the future, XM has signed or is signing deals with several other talk shows, bring them on board from terrestrial radio, as well as the PGA and USTA. Xm's equipment is also far superior to Siruis's. Where is their handheld portable at, oh yea they don't have one on the market yet. When it does hit the market, it only has 44 minutes of recording time compared to XM's unit, which was out last year with 5 hours of recording. I could go on but I already wasted enough time responding to someone who starts off by calling me a tool instead of responding maturely to my statement. Do some research before you open your mouth.
