Are new shocks/struts reccommended? If so, what type and why? Anything else?
The stock 15's will get some new rubber and used for winter only and will be replaced with some Z06 wheels, yada yada yada. Should look pretty spiffy, but I want it to ride well....so who's done this? I'm a n00b at street trucks

look into either the factory bilstein shocks or the belltech shocks.
Other than that you should be good. If you are lowering with the belltech kit im assuming its the torsion keys and block kit? If so then you shouldnt have any problems at all. Just get it aligned when you're all done and go out and enjoy it.
ever thing about swapping the 4wd tcase for a astro awd tcase?
