I prefer the alum shafts over the carbon fiber ones. With the alum shafts you get about 13-15* of deflection out of them, which will help reduce driveline wear and tear. I dont think the carbon shafts will deflect at all. The last few alum shafts I put in, I only had to remove some of the sound deadner from the tunnel to get it to clear.

I would get the alum shaft over a carbon one and then put the extra money twords a set of light wheels and you would most likely end up with a better net weight loss in the drivetrain over just a carbon shaft.
