pros:
-sound (if you like it)
-bling under the hood (if you like it)
-possibly can hold more boost than stock (but sometimes they're worse, and stock can hold 20+ psi)
wait a sec, there arent any clear pros... hmm.
cons:
-if it vents to atmosphere it throws your AFR every time it vents and confuses your car
-a lot of aftermarket bovs are not adjusted properly... they either leak or they surge, some are adjustable though and some are just good out of the box
-power/dollar ratio is... well, its 0.
the guys who should go to aftermarket BOVs are the ones running high boost that the stock bpv cant handle, or when they go to a standalone which wont be adversely affected by venting to atmosphere, or a front mount that doesn't work with the stock bov. mostly bov owners are the guys who want to draw attention to themselves.
this is just my opinion of course, and to each his own. hope that helps though...
