awesome schnauzer petey!

Our mini schnauzers had puppies last year, and my parents finally sent some pics of the boy grown up a bit. Thought I'd post a little progression of the 2 pups, from new born to 6 months old.

Taken just a couple hours after birth. The litter originally was 3, but the first puppy was breach. Good news was the mom didn't hurt herself delivering the breach pup (as I was rushing her to the vet, we knew about the possibility of a breach but its hard to stop a mom in labor). Bad news was the pup was killed during the birth. Lighter one is the boy, weighed 1/2 pound, darker one is the girl, weighed 1/4 pound. The boy wasted no time in picking up the nickname Tank, since he was so much bigger than his sister.

Several weeks later, posing for a family photo. Mom on the left, Dad on the right. "Chicago" under mom and "Tank" under dad.

Dad inspecting Tank

Chicago on the left, Tank on the right. At this point they could be weened from their mother, but they had been claimed by family, whom we would be seeing around New Years. They ended up staying with us about 4 weeks past the minimum. This was the point where we made them sleep downstairs in their kennel while mom and dad stayed upstairs.

The boy, now named Gus by my parents, before his first haircut days before Christmas. He would soon be off to Washington and to his new house.

Now at 6 months old, Gus has grown up to look like a proper schnauzer. He is living near Seattle, WA with my parents and his new Beagle friend. His sister lives in San Diego with my aunt but I haven't gotten any pictures of her yet.

Here's some more of grown up Gus.

Sorry for the long post, but I'm a proud "grandparent".
