Certain revisions just do plain better. See: late revision prescotts.
You know how the prescotts were hot as hell when they first came out, but I know someone who got a late revision prescott (like 2 years ago) and he OC'd it ~1ghz without any kind of problem. No hiccups. At that kind of OC, earlier prescotts would be like 40C ambient, no load. He was at about 35 ambient, 45-46 full load. For a full 1ghz OC, I say thats impressive.
