Well it would help to offer advice that could be of actual use to people. Just because you have done this before, it doesn't mean that other people should be as stupid. So let's assume that the hub's strength won't be affected by adding a bunch of extra holes. Just the fact that you have to be precise with the location of the holes and you suggest using a magic marker, that just doesn't work. So now you would have an offcenter mounting location for your wheels. I'm sure that would make for some great vibrations.

It's not that people lack the skill of taking measurements, it's that people still have the sense not to do something stupid and then try and get other people to do it.
