turn both your computer and ps2 off, then turn them both back on at the EXACT SAME TIME - if you dont get it exact it wont work - once they both boot up, they will be on the same wavelength, so to speak, and its the same as having an invisible, or wireless, network connection. now, once your computer is up, go to start--> run and type in "ps2 transfer gt pix" and a folder will open up with all your pictures. as soon as they are done copying, immediately flip the switch on the back of your ps2, before it can access the internet via your open network pc, and send a message to its microsoft server, alerting them that someone has found the invisible server.
if that doesnt work, use the USB port on the ps2 and plug in a flashstick (or even a digital camera that has a card in it- thats what i did. seriously.)
