Photo guy: recomended digital SLRs?
Hey--
I know we have a lot of photo-philes here on TST and I am really looking to upgrade from my Nikon Coolpix--- and my dad is getting tired of me always borrowing his D50.
So-- I am looking for advice or comparisons of a few of the big name DSLRS because I know almost nothing about still photgraphy (but am really interested in it)
here is what I have been looking at so far--
Canon Rebel XT
Canon Rebel XTi
Nikon D50-60-70?
I know these models have hudreds of dollars differences in their prices-- but I am looking for a nice camera with decent glass that will last me a long time, I am not the type that will go out each year and buy the newest on the market. I am also looking for fully manual controls (I think all the cameras I listed may have them, but some maybe more than others???). I am also looking for something that has a decent stock lens...not a camera that I am gonna have to buy and then go out and buy a decent lens for it that costs more than the body does, meanwhile, the stock lens never gets used. A decent stock lens is a must (but I do plan to upgrade eventually)
I plan on doing a ton more research before I buy anything, but since I have seen some SICK photos taken from TST members I figured I would see what you guys think.
Back in the days when I was a film student Canon was widely understood to make the best glass on the market-- so I am a little partial to canon- BUT it seems like Nikon has a big chunk of the market with their D-series, and I love my dads D50. So thats where I stand...
feed me!
oh and the title should say "Photo Guys" not "Photo Guy"--
